I have never been so frustrated in my life.

Travel Day

I love airports. There are so many opportunities to people watch while flipping thru magazines and drinking coffee. Or, if you are a slightly nervous flyer like me, a preflight Bloody Mary.

Where else is it this socially acceptable to be drinking hard liquor at 9am?

I used to be a SUPER nervous flyer, but once before a flight I was getting a coffee and this man in line behind me struck up a conversation. Turns out he was the pilot of my flight! I told him I was always a nervous passenger and he told me that there’s never anything to worry about as long as the flight attendants still have a cool face on. Now I watch the flight attendants like a HAWK!

Also – my vibrating Clarisonic face scrubber went off in my bag and I didn’t realize it and walked thru security. The situation was just as embarrassing as you would assume. :/

Decorating the Tree

My younger sister Libby loves decorating the Christmas tree. She says its her favorite part of the holiday season. Today she finally convinced the rest of the family to get to work on it. They did an awesome job. (I was busy eating the last of the Thanksgiving leftovers and taking pictures to commemorate the occasion)

The tree went from this: PB280013 to this: PB280019 in just a few short hours!

I spent the afternoon at my aunt’s house where she cooked us an amazing spread of my favorite Arabic foods. There’s really nothing like spending some time at home with family, but I’m ready to head back to Columbus tomorrow morning for the last few days of Fall Quarter!

Last night was my first time going to a dueling piano bar, and I LOVED it! Anywhere you can sing along off key and at the top of your lungs while still being socially acceptable is awesome in my book.

There was a lot of college football rivalry going down .. especially between Auburn and ‘Bama fans. However, they did play Hang On Sloopy so I was happy!

I can’t wait to go to the piano bar back in Columbus!

You can never have too many…

The highlight of today was definitely scooping up these babies:

Seriously, gotta love TJ Maxx – these are Calvin Klein’s and I scored them for $60!

The rest of the day was spent lounging around the house, going for a jog and drinking coffee. A good amount of Thanksgiving leftovers were consumed too! Tonight I’m headed up to Tampa to see some of my girlfriends who go to UT. Well, I’m off to get ready!

So .. I’m starting a blog.

At my birthday dinner with these lovely ladies last Saturday evening, I decided to start a blog.

Birthday Group

There are many wonderful moments and conversations that I can’t possibly tuck into my memory forever. Instead, I’m going to write about them here! I’ve heard about people who take one photo a day for a year and then look back at the end of the year and evaluate how much they’ve seen, done, and learned. I plan on doing the same – at least one photo for each day of my 22nd year.

So! Today is Thanksgiving, but before that, I want to back up one day to my 22nd birthday!

I flew home late Tuesday evening and woke up bright and early Wednesday morning at my parent’s house. I got a coffee and pedis with my sisters (Mary & Libby). After that, we headed into Tampa to meet our Mom at the mall. My Dad wasn’t too excited to see us coming home 6 hours later with multiple shopping bags … ! After a little resting and a mini fashion show, the family headed out to dinner in downtown St Pete. We ate at a Greek restaurant called Acropolis. The food was great, but unfortunately, it’s one of those restaurants that sings to you on your birthday. Don’t get me wrong, I love birthdays, but I HATE that kind of attention. It was a wonderful day and I’m really glad I got to spend it at home in Florida with my family. My only complaint? I wish my older sister Christina had been there too! She was busy being professional up in NYC.

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. Today was just one of those awesome family days where everyone is just around the house relaxed and not worrying about impressing other people. My uncle came by for the meal, and we all ate outside on the back porch with a view of the water. We lingered over my mom’s great cooking and some red wine enjoying family. It was perfect, minus missing Christina again!

Tomorrow is going to be a day of leftovers & laying out.

Rough life, I know.

Where Am I?
