Market to Market

On Saturday morning, Bethany and I hopped on our beach cruisers and headed downtown to North Market for the annual Market to Market bike ride. The bike ride takes you from downtown up to the Hills Market in Worthington via the Olentangy bike trail. The weather wasn’t too cold and we lucked out – it didn’t rain until we were nearly home. The ride was over 20 miles, and Bethany and I took our time to enjoy the trail and all of the local businesses that had booths set up along the trail. That is a nice way of saying we were the least legit people there. Most everyone else had on full body spandex, helmets, and road bikes. We didn’t even bring water bottles.
But first! There was breakfast at North Market. The quiche sucked, I won’t lie, but the muffin and free coffee more than made up for it.
Once we hit about halfway, we rode along this pretty little lake.
Once we got to the Hills Market, we were ready for some more food. The newest Columbus foodie magazine, Crave, was holding their official launch party at the Hills. There were stacks of magazines, free beer samples, savory crepes, and some ice cream. It was so fun! We walked around the market for a little while too, they had free samples of their best selling items. I was too busy eating multiple samples of carrot cake to take any pictures of that though.
All in all, I loved it! Some of the local businesses we stopped and talked to along the trail were really friendly and I have some more suggestions to add to my bucket list. I’d do this ride again in a heartbeat and I really suggest it to any Columbus-ites considering doing next years!
