You know how when you meet a person, you notice one of their features first?
I usually notice their eyebrows. I know that may seem weird, but I can’t help it! I’m just obsessed with achieving the perfect brow.
In lieu of wax, I usually get mine threaded. For some reason my skin just does not react well to having hot wax poured on and then ripped off. Threading is just what it sounds like, if you’re not familiar with it, you can read about the technique here. Basically, a little piece of thread is looped around the hair and pulled out from the root. I promise, it’s less painful than it sounds! I swear by it.. I can’t ever see myself waxing again.
Last time I got my brows threaded, they came out a bit thinner than I like. So I had to let them grow out to cavewoman like lengths so that this time I could get the thickness I love. Tiffany came with me to the salon, and I had her snap a picture in case anyone is interested in what threading entails.
Isn’t the before + after unreal? Threading offers a much more precise line than waxing can, don’t you think?

A new haircut!
I seriously love getting my hair done. From the head massage at the shampoo bowl to the girl talk and of course the fabulous blow out, it’s bliss. I always walk out of the salon feeling like a million bucks.
I had told some friends that I was getting a haircut today, and when they asked what I was getting, I would respond with “oh..chopping off six inches and dying it black” I got so many jaw drops, it was hilarious!

One of the simplest, girliest pleasures I indulge in frequently is painting my nails. I am obsessed with the blog All Lacquered Up. I find out about new colors, collections, and all things manicure related from her great posts!
Before Halloween, I had read about OPI’s new black shatter top coat, and have been keeping my eye out for it ever since. After months of waiting, I finally got it! (Actually, my wonderful boyfriend actually got it for me!)
Basically, you just paint it over any color and as it dries, it “shatters.” I experimented with different colors and coats with my roommate Joelynn. I went pink, she went rainbow.
We’re both obsessed!

I can’t believe I’m about to post a picture of my feet on the internet.
I’m worried of freaky foot fetishists.
But, I love this nail polish color so much, I have to share.
It is seriously such a mermaid shade! I feel like I’m channeling my inner Ariel.
So when my sister Mary and I were at the nail salon, we were joking about our older sister Christina. She said she wanted to walk to the nail salon (easily 3+ miles) and we basically told her to shut up – this is St. Pete, not NYC. Anyway, she made it to the nail salon a few hours later (via car) and the ladies asked her what she was doing back. Us girls all look alike, and I guess they thought she was one of us or something. Anyway, when she cleared it up, they said “Ohhh! you’re the one that wanted to walk here!”
Needless to say, Christina wasn’t too pleased to hear that Mary and I were talking about her at the nail salon! Ooopsies.

So about once every week or so, my friends and I get together to do our nails. I love this night, mostly because it isn’t usually planned and it comes together so naturally. Tonight though, my friend Bethany had a mission. She read about a marbling technique in a magazine so we had to try it out!
First, we rounded up some colors and put them in a ramekin filled with water.
Didn’t quite work that well at first ….
But the second try was MUCH more successful!
Finished & Fabulous
The rest of us didn’t go for a dip, but rocked our own styles for sure.
Tiffany rocked the BROWN and yellow (not black thankyouverymuch!)
Kristen just couldn’t wait for the OPI crackle polish so she did her own at home version with silver & purple.
I did a silvery gun metal color with pink and yellow accent nails.
And Joelynn chose to channel her second grade self.
